Wild health

I usually wait until I finish a book before I recommend it, but I’m soenthralled and impressed by the one I’m currently reading, I’m eager to talkabout it, and I wanted to see if anyone else on the list has read it: WildHealth: How Animals Keep Themselves Well and What We Can Learn from Them”by Cindy Engel. Although it’s about wild animals–a fascinating study ofhow they prevent and cure disease through foods–it has so much to say abouthuman nutritian!

I read part of it. It’s one of the many partially-read books on my shelf. But your post has inspired me to read the rest! The only part I remember isabout cats and dogs eating grass, possibly to expel worms.

Maybe you just hit a section of that wasn’t of particular interest to you ormaybe you had too much else in your life at the time. I’m glad you’ll betrying it again. It’s not just that the info is so helpful to the way wethink about health–in ourselves and in animals. I also think the book iswonderfully well written, in terms of style and the character of the authorthat shines through. I mostly devour novels, but this non-fiction totallycaptivated me. And I have finished it now.
